This delectable coffee comes from Banexport’s test farm Finca Juan Martin which is located in the Cauca region of Colombia.  Banexport – a company that exports Colombian coffee – owns and runs this farm so they’re able to control most aspects of coffee cultivation and production.  This puts them in a position where they can develop/improve agricultural practices and additionally develop new varietals.  This particular coffee is a Naturally processed Pink Bourbon… a single varietal(Café Imports refers to this as a variety select) coffee.  Pink Bourbon is a hybrid of Red and Yellow Bourbon varieties of coffee.  Pink Bourbon is difficult to produce as it’s genetically a recessive gene(Red and Yellow are dominant).  In addition to being a single variety this coffee is also Naturally processed which is pretty rare in Colombia and makes this coffee truly unique.
