Writing a coffee blog is a bit like playing ‘Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego?’ You never know where we’re on this epic journey we’re going to take your palate next. This month for example, we’re headed to the heart of Central America, Nicaragua.
FTO Nicaragua Segovia: The scented aromas you will find are hints of malt and butter. While enjoying the cup you will taste lightly toasted hazelnut, bittersweet chocolate with a medium body and sparkling acidity. This is a fully washed coffee and is also dried in the sun. The coffee is grown at an altitude of 1250-1800 meters and found in the regions of Esteli, Madriz, and Nueva Segovia. The growers that produce this lovely coffee are called Promotora de Desarollo Cooperativo de las Segovias or also known as PRODECOOP for short. This is definitely one of my favorite cups because of the nice balance of acidity with the body but it also has consistent flavors you can pick up every time you have a cup.
